SodaStream Turtle by David Day
“Ocean Of The Future“, a virtual reality experience developed by SodaStream.
The Turtle created by David Day at Lump Studio in Melbourne, using plastic bottles, thongs, flippers and other rubbish found on Australian Beaches was positioned on top of a pod which houses the VR experience “Ocean Of The Future”. The experience aims to help us understand how our single use plastic and waste is impacting our oceans and marine life. The installation was at The Overseas Passenger Terminal at Circular Quay in Sydney for the duration of one week and was available for anyone visiting the space to experience for free.
The Turtle will travel with SodaStream to other destinations continuing the journey of promoting education and change.
Lump Sculpture Studio proudly fabricated the internal structure of the sculpture, assisted Dave Day with the application of the found objects and facilitated bump in and assembly of the piece on site for public installation at Circular Quay.
