Barooga Sculpture
It may look like a hay bail but I assure you its not. It’s our new sculpture at Lump. The Barooga Sculpture.
The latest piece to leave our studio designed by Chris and commissioned by our good friends at ABEO Architects for the local Barooga community Sports Club.
The farming community of Barooga is the base inspiration for the sculpture. The farms with circular fields (not to be confused with crop circles) and the machinery used to farm the land.
Made from thirteen large and thirteen small ellipses, each constructed individually from steel and pieced together to make the hay bail’esk sculpture. The internal sections are completed with a white painted finish and the outer with a metallic charcoal. Finally, the sculpture is placed on a 900mm tall marble base to greet the community of Barooga in the sports club foyer.
