Australian Garden Show – Sydney
Last week saw the opening of Australia’s newest gardening event, the Australian Garden Show in Sydney. Held over 4 days in the beautiful Centennial Park, Sydneysiders burst into spring by celebrating Australia’s love of outdoor spaces and all things gardening.
One very special display at the show was “The Terrace” by Peta Donaldson from Natural Design. Peta was awarded “Best Urban Garden” and received a Silver medal and $10000 from Debco to contribute to the building of an “Inspirational Garden” at the next Australian Garden Show in Sydney 2014.
“The Terrace” is an example of how to maximise what space you have, whilst encompassing all of the elements that enhance your outdoor experience.
Peta chose to feature one of Lumps brand new Push Pull Panels, the “Hippo Round” design. The piece was used as a canopy and delicately filtered dappled light onto the wall and into the garden below. The Push Pull Panels are a new thing at Lump and are a creative alternative to your regular screen. The Push Pull design allows you to Push and Pull the laser cut sections to create your own 3D pattern.
Neatly settled into the garden was also a small white angular sculpture that was part of an experimental range Chris worked on quite some time ago called “Geo Sculptures”. This particular “Geo sculpture” is one of the very few remaining from the series and seems to me to be the perfect delicate compliment to this very naturally designed “Best Urban Garden”.
Congratulations Peta and the whole Natural Design crew. For more information about Peta’s award winning design and all those involved click here
