Sculpture Among the Tulips at Tesselaar Tulip Farm
We have both participated in the Sculpture Among the Tulips Exhibition as part of the Tessealaar Tulip Festival on several occasions and are looking forward to having our work on display again among the gloriously coloured tulips from September 12- October 8.
Our two entries this year were recently displayed as part of the Toorak show – Chris’ Social Collider Theory and my award-winning Clasp.
The Clasp won the top prize at Toorak from a field of 92 entries and I hope it is just as well received at Tesselaar.
The 2.4m sculpture, made from corten steel with a natural rusted finish, has sentimental value – it was inspired by the delicate and intricate clasps found on jewellery owned by my grandmother.
Chris is also hoping for great things at Tesselaar – in 2008 he was awarded a High Commendation for his sculpture Eggular, so this year he is hoping to better that and take out the big $10,000 prize and the chance for his work to become a permanent feature at Tesselaar Gardens.
