Sotto

OVERVIEW
When roughly translated from Italian, 'Sotto' means 'what lies beneath'. The name is fitting; while giving the impression of being solid, when viewed from an angle, it is possible to see straight through this piece.

Measuring 1200mm T x 1200mm W x 450 deep this beautiful piece will look great in any area.

FEATURED INSTALLATION
Tesselaar Tulip Festival | 2009

This piece saw Chris bring to life a seemingly impossible idea. How could he create a three dimensional orb shape from pieces of flat 3mm Corten? How would he make it fit together? And how on earth would he get the welder in those tiny gaps?

The Sotto was Lump's second entrant in the 2009 Tesselaar Tulip Festival. If you look from the side, you will see the detail in this cross section, elipse shapes increase in size.

This close up shot shows yet another angle. Oddly the elipse shapes disappear and the symmetry of the straight lines take over. Finished in our natural rusted finish, this piece looked fabulous when contrasted against the lush green background of the Tulip Farm.

The Sotto has been sold out!!!

All seven pieces have been sold.
